SEPT. 6TH, 2023.

I am thrilled for and honored by this upcoming reading. Literary Arts is a special, special place, annually hosting The Portland Book Festival (this year Nov. 4th) and bringing in writers such as Ann Patchett (a personal favorite), Zadie Smith (another favorite!) and the winner of this year’s Oregon Book Award, Casey Parks.

And little ol’ me, participating in their monthly One Page. Hosted by Portland favorite, Emme Lund, I will full-out perform 20 minutes of selections from As Far as You Can Go Before You Have to Come Back–no costumes but several international accents. Then we go for a Q&A. Lastly, as part of the program, I will join Emme in giving feedback to any audience member who wishes to read one page of a work. What a night!

I got this sweet gig by putting myself out there. Last fall, I was part of a new series for The Montana Book Festival, readings by writers of short work. B/c I wasn’t a featured author, I had to pay my own way, transportation and hotel and food — but I got to meet Emme. Literary Arts will be our third event together. She is a riot and so inspiring as a writer and a human.

Sept. 6th, 2023. 7pm — 9pm. 925 SW Washington St., Portland, OR 97205
