A reader asks, “Any free resources?

I would like to learn more about Facebook advertising. Are there any FREE resources?

Alle sez:

If anyone knows any, please post. From what I understand, companies don’t make the money FB does because they give-it-away-give-it-away-give-it-away-give-it-away, now.

However! While the below adverting plan requires an initial outlay, I found it worth my precious dollars:

The Plan

My publisher, with my permission, ran an ad in conjunction with offering a 99-cent Kindle sale (Amazon, not Facebook). The ad/discount ran with the novel’s debut.

I made basically no money off the deal, but my novel bounced to #1 in Literary Fiction and #2 in Coming of Age. When the book gets on a category bestsellers’ list, that’s when it begins to sell itself.

Also, I then had every right to describe the novel as an Amazon best-seller in two categories. Happy Day!!

Update: Millennium Book Award

PS. I mis-read the announce-date for Book Viral’s Millennium Book Award shortlist. I thought they announced on the 16th. The announcement comes the week of the 16th. Still in the running!

Stll hoping for “shortlist.”
