Her eponymous imprint is open to subs!

The famed author of Bad Feminist, Difficult Women, and perhaps most notable (for this overeater, anyway) Hunger runs Roxanne Gay Books (an imprint of Grove Atlantic). As you can imagine, agents submit with the determination of lifeguard scanning riptide. If your book offers what the press deems “beautifully written, provocative, intelligent, [risky]” writing, get on over there and sub it.

Please submit a cover letter, and as a PDF, a 1–3 page summary of your book, and the first three (3) chapters of your manuscript. If we want to see more, we will request a full manuscript

In March of this year, Roxanne Gay Books published three titles:

  • Ani Kayode Somtochukwu’s literary romance, And Then He Sang a Lullaby;
  • Novelist and podcaster Lindsay Hunter’s literary thriller, Hot Springs Drive, (November 2023) takes on “one woman’s unapologetic choices upend the lives of everyone around her”; and
  • The the debut novel of Ani Kayode Somtochukwu: And Then He Sang a Lullaby, about “a passionate love story about two young men who may have too far a distance to bridge to another.”

There! I’ve done all your research for you. Go get ‘em.
