Literary Arts in Portland

Was hauling ass to get packed and get all the reading stuff together and friggin’ take a shower before I had to catch the train and — to your right is what I returned to.

You can see that I am staining some Japanese-style furniture for the mini that I am in the process of assembling (in the far back on the right, in the window). On the floor below the window is my box of stuff I might use at a reading. All those folders exploding from it contain various iterations of my stump speech. The box also contains the Square, the buttons I give out (Expect the Miracle) and a lot of stuff that really should be recycled. And to the left of the box, a deconstructed dolly — for schlepping books.

For the Literary Arts reading, I was only gone overnight so I filled over half my rolling suitcase with copies of As Far as You Can Go Before You Have to Come Back. (Currently #691 in American Dramas & Plays; WHAT???)

The reading at Literary Arts could not have been better attended. I’d call it 50 people in the house! And I got to do my thing for 20 minutes. It don’t get better ‘n that!
