… the publishing part of the book journey begins.

Not your standard gray. The heart goes “A-thump-thump” nonetheless. Image by the author.

At the bookstore where I was the marketing manager, the uncorrected proofs I saw were plain gray zzzzzzzz … sorry; dozed off there for a moment. I though a color cover would be more attractive.

It is important to remember that the image is not in any way the final cover for As Far as You Can Go Before You Have to Come Back. This is a not even a mock-up. This is what’s called the uncorrected proof — a semi-semi-final draft sent with the caveat: this edition contains mistakes that have not yet been caught. The prose might even change, before publication of the novel.

Uncorrected proofs go to book festivals and blurbers nine months to one year prior to publication. I’m hoping to drum up spots on panels at hard-to-get-into festivals such as Vancouver and Portland; as well as blurbs by well-known and respected authors.

(Shhhhhh: a seminal author in the field has agreed to read my book for potential review. This author’s blurb would change everything. I hope to reveal more later.)

(Your blessings for the best of luck gratefully accepted.)
